DealDotCom

Tag:, ,

If you are actively surfing the net, you would have probably come across DealDotCom, another hot news in the net lately.  I was telling myself, “Oh, it is just another one of those affiliate program.” No doubt I am right. But what caught my attention was the way they run this program.

DealDotCom believe in having fun and excitement on the net beside making lots of money. They injected fun and excitement into the  otherwise predicable, dry, and boring world of Internet Marketing. Take a look at their website and you will know what I mean. As they put it, DealDotCom is run by a handful of code monkeys and assorted minions. Not a bad description at all.

The best of all, it is a place on the web where you can get all the internet marketing products you want at rock bottom prices. According to them, $10 off a $500 worth of products is not a deal and it won’t be found at DealDotCom. The name itself suggests that it has to be a real deal.

Funny thing is that they only sell one product a day. If you missed the sale for that day, you will not have a chance to buy the product any more. I am not sure how this is going to help them in their business. Looks like they don’t mind losing sales and making less money but it does create excitement and curiosity which by itself may draw more visitors daily to their site. And what they offer the next day is a secret. So if you want to find out, make sure you visit their site daily. If you missed a sale of the product that you wanted, you will never be able to find out how much it was  selling for. It will remain a mystery forever.  They simply put it,”If you miss the deal of the day, it is our hope that you will never know how much we let that thing you really wanted go for.” A brilliant idea. That’s what I think but not sure how you think of it.

If you think that they are cool (I think they really are :-) ) , and you wanted to be part of them, they do have the affiliate program that you can partake and join their team of monkeys :-) You don’t have to be one if you do not want to. But if you decide to take up the challenge, you can click HERE to join and have fun.

New on Blogrush

John Reese in definitely listening to his BlogRush users. To make the BlogRush widget more attractive and blends in well to your blog, he has added “flavours” to the widget. Now you can choose the colour of the widget to match your blog background colour. Isn’t it wonderful? Just like Google Adsense ads, we can decide what colours we like so that it matches the design of our blog. This will be available in a few days. John Reese has promised that he and his team will work hard with many new improvements on the way to help you to generate more targeted traffic to your site.  Looking at the way things are going, we can be rest assured that more good things are going to come. Way to go man!

Unlimited traffic to your blog

Tag:, , ,

If you are a blogger suffering from the “lack of traffic” syndrome, you will definitely welcome this new service offered by BlogRush. John Reese, the founder of BlogRush has announced that the first 60 hours since they launched the BlogRush public beta has been nothing short of explosive.

BlogRush is an exciting tool that many bloggers could benefit from. It helps to generate targeted traffic to your blog by way of replicating itself and using the Syndication Credit Formula System. First you have to sign up as a member (by the way signing up is free, so you have nothing to lose by signing up). You will be given a code which is to be pasted in your blog. Upon doing so, a widget (like the one displayed at the right side of this page) will appear on your blog displaying 5 links to blogs belonging to other BlogRush members.

The Syndication Credits Formula System works in such a way that you will earn a ratio of 1:1 syndication credits on your own traffic up to second generation of your referrals. For 3rd generation up to 6th generation of referrals, you will earn at the ratio of 1:4 which means that you get one credits for every 4 impressions of the widget by any of the users located in your 3rd to 6th generation that you have referred. From 7th to 10th generation, the ratio of credits earning is 1:8.

This new service is still at its beta at this moment when I am writing. By the way it goes, it is going to be a big hit among bloggers. You can sign up for free by clicking at the bottom of the BlogRush widget at the right side of this page or click here and start attracting visitors to your blog.

Since this service is still new and instructions are still quite limited, those who use BlogRush may not gain much value from it if they do not know how to use it. Snowboardjohn in his blog titled “Do you make these BlogRush mistakes?” has written some very useful tips on mistakes that need to be avoided when using BlogRush.

Need more traffic? Don’t wait any longer. Join the crowd now!

My blogging experience

Tag:, ,

I was introduced to internet publishing business by a friend about two years back. The idea of having my own website and and having Google Adsense on my site got me so excited. I registered for a domain name and got myself a hosting company to host my site. (When selecting a hosting company, make sure you select one that has good background with minimum downtime and good customer service. My preferred hosting company is Hostgator. Should you face any problem, the customer service is available through online chat, real cool) Not too bad for a beginner, I managed to get my website up using a web builder tool provided by the hosting company. But what I had was just a shabby looking website and to maintain the website when there is any updates or changes drove me crazy. It was a tedious process to update all the pages and I spent many hours in doing so.

Later I was introduced to Blogger. I did not understand what a blog was back then. I thought that it was great to have my own diary online, so I signed up for a Blogger account and started recording my journals. To me it was just a great place to share my family pictures with friends and relatives. I also inserted Google ads on my blog hoping that friends and relatives may just click on the ads that attracted their attention and make some money out of that. But nothing happened. I did not know how to promote my blog.

I realised the great potential of blogging when I found this website Wordpress Adsense System by Gobala Krishnan while surfing the internet one day. It totally changed the way I looked at blogging. I realised that it was actually an excellent way to turn your blog into a cash generating machine if you know the way. I took up the offer to download two chapters of the ebook for free. After going through the two chapters, I knew I must have the whole book if I really wanted to make money from my blog. I bought the book and I have not regretted my decision. The book was written in simple terms that make it easy to understand even for a beginner who does not know what a blog is. It comes with step by step guide and screen shots so that readers can understand more easily. As the saying goes, a picture is worth more than a thousand words. There is a vast information provided in the book and the author knows that it will be too much for a new beginner to absorb. To help beginners, he even included a seven days guide plan that teaches you step by step to get your blog up and running, fully functioning with search engine optimization. The end result at the end of the seven days course is a great professionally looking blog that will start generating cash for you. The blog you are reading now is the result of the book. Compared to my first blog using Blogger, it makes a whole lots of different (for comparison purposes, you can take a look at my first blog here) If you like to have a blog like this one which you are reading now and start making money from it, get yourself the two free chapters here.

Blogging wars - Wordpress vs Blogger

Tag:, , ,

There’s a war going on in the blogosphere, and it has nothing to do with bloggers dissing each other on their respective websites. The war is about control of the blogosphere by several great, many good, and tons of terrible blogging platforms. The average newbie now has “too many” options to choose from, and the battle for blogging supremacy is hotter than ever.

At my website and blogs, I’m always asked the question “Is Wordpress better than Blogger?”. The answer, of course, is “Yes”. But to really understand why, it’s important to look at both blogging platforms side-by-side and see which one you really need.
Here’s the comparison scale:

1) Ease of Set-up And Use

Yes, it’s much easier to set-up a blog with Blogspot.com and get your own Bloggger account. You can be done in 10 minutes flat. Once you’re set-up you can start posting immediately. If you want to add a designer’s touch to your blog, there are also tons of blogger templates available for free.
Installing Wordpress however can be a major headache if you don’t know what you’re doing. Since you’re going to host it on your own account, you’ll need to download the installation files, upload them to your server, set-up a database, and run the configuration script.

However, if you know which hosting account to get, you can choose one with Cpanel included. With Cpanel, you can do a one-click installation, upgrade and removal of your Wordpress platform.

2) Customization & Advanced Use

Blogger doesn’t allow categories. You can’t sort your articles into different focuses, unless you know how to hack the platform. With Wordpress, not only can you add categories, you can also display each category differently on your main page. In fact with the correct plugins you can even turn your Wordpress into a magazine-like portal.

Publishing with Blogger can be a pain in the ass. It can take forever to post articles, especially if you’re making changes to the entire website. With Wordpress, publishing is much faster, although if you load your system with all kinds of bells and whistles it can be just as frustrating. With a Blogger account, you can get additional features like “Shout Boxes” that improve interaction on your site. You can also get pretty themes and nifty little tools that you can add to the core template files. However, that’s as far as you can go with Blogger.

With Wordpress however, the sky is the limit. As cliche as that may sound, not only can you get themes, additional “plugins” and advanced tools, you can also extend Wordpress to far beyond just a blogging platform.
The talk today is about using Wordpress as a complete, user-friendly Content Management System or CMS.

4) Copyrights and Ownership of Content

I started with Blogger and I won’t say that it’s bad. But after a while I started to get frustrated with Blogger, and here’s why: Google Owns Your Content
Google has the authority to shut down your account without warning if they don’t like what you’re blogging about. You don’t have absolute control over your own blog. With Wordpress, you own the domain name and the blog is hosted on your own account. You have full control over your content.

With the self-hosted version of Wordpress (not Wordpress.com), you’re free to write about anything you want, and use the software in any way you want. Yes, Blogger allows you to publish to your own domain, but they still own the database that holds your content! Don’t forget that!

5) Search Engine Optimization and Traffic

There’s this propaganda that since Google owns Blogger, they tend to favor Blogger accounts. I won’t say that this is illogical, but from my experience, there’s no such favoritism.

I’ve heard as many stories of getting indexed fast and ranking high in search engines from both Wordpress and Blogger users. As long as the content is good, the spiders will come.

When you post in Blogger, you can only “ping” a limited amount of sites, whereas with Wordpress on your own domain you can ping as many blog directories as you want, and start getting more traffic.
As a conclusion, I would say that Wordpress is only slightly ahead in terms of optimization for search engines, and building large amounts of traffic.

6) Money-Making Potential

There’s no doubt that it’s easier to get started with Google Adsense if you have a Blogger account. In fact you can now apply for Adsense from within a Blogger account. Not entirely surprising considering the fact that both are owned by the same company.

With Wordpress, it can get tricky. The default installation is not enough. You’ll need a couple of plugins and even a better theme to really maximize the Adsense potential. However, this seems to be getting easier and there’s even “Adsense revenue sharing” plugins around that allow you to share ad revenue with other contributors and writers for your blog.

When you start using Wordpress to build your Adsense websites, you’ll soon discover what I mean. It’s something you need to experience for yourself. I can tell you one thing though – when you go Wordpress, you don’t go back.

While some of these websites do provide quality information, most of them are just trying to make themselves rich. The don’t normally reveal much of their so called online secrets and you ended up having to spend more to get more of their secrets. So with so much information available out there, how do we know which one to trust and whom to believe?

To avoid being scammed, it is best to start your own online business and not join any of those get rich quick scheme. One of the best online business to venture into is the online publishing business. But before you jump right into it, there are a few factors which you need to consider first.

The most important thing is to find a niche market. You have to search yourself to know what is it that you are good at. Once you have found what your interest is, that will be the direction you will be heading towards. You will find that it is easy to do something that you have interest in. For example, if you have no interest in sports, you may not want to venture into any sports related business. First of all, you may have no knowledge about sports and if you try to venture into sports business just because it is a lucrative business, you will find yourself forcing yourself to run the business just because you have to and not because you enjoy it. Eventually you will be stress out and you may just want to quit. So find a niche market that you have interest in and work towards it.

Secondly, decide how much time and effort you are willing to put into the project. If you have some online publishing background or knowledge, then it will be easier for you to start. If you are a freshie, you must be prepared to work long hours as there are just so much things to learn. It is advisable to get a good e-book that will guide you step by step on how to run this business.

All business venture will involve some initial investment. Plan your budget well and decide how much you are willing to spend. You may have to get yourself a domain name,  which may cost you about $10 a year. You will definitely need a web hosting company to host your domain and it may cost you anything from $6.95 onwards per month. If you have extra to spend, it is good that you invest into a good e-book. It will save you a lot of time. Instead of spending your time learning how to set up your online presence, you can spend it promoting your site.

What’s is the difference between blogs and websites?

Tag:,

Online journals, better known as blogs, are becoming more and more popular. When the Internet was first getting started, users rushed to build personal web sites. Web sites are still very popular among web users, but many are now turning to blogs. What’s the difference? This article will examine the main similarities and differences between a Weblog and a website.

While blogs and website are intended to be different, there are a couple of similarities in blogs and sites. Mainly, they are both found on the Internet using a URL or a web address. Both also must have some sort of host to keep the information online. Another similarity of the two is that they both can be maintained by virtually anyone from individuals to companies. Both Weblog and websites can also contain information, pictures, link and keywords, as well. These two types of sites will target readers.

With a blog, information that is entered on the site is generally updated very frequently depending on the writer. Sometimes blog writers even update several times a day. Usually with a website, information is not updated regularly. Websites generally contain information about something that does not change often. When a website is updated, usually the entire page is altered. With a blog, just one entry at a time is updated. After a website has been changed, that information is gone and cannot be seen again by the reader. On a blog, new entries are added, but the old ones are not deleted from the site. Instead, they are stamped with the date and time that they were created, given a title and indexed on that blog page. It makes it easy for a blog reader to go to a certain blog page and read past entries without having to search.

Another main difference between and blog and a website is that a website is generally a little harder to maintain and oftentimes requires a solid understanding of the way the Internet works. With a blog, almost anyone can easily and quickly update a blog. It does not require any special working knowledge of the Internet. In addition, there are many sites that offer blog features and most of the time these can be used for free.

Blogs also encourage people to communicate with each other much more so than with a website. A websites primary function is to provide some sort of information to a reader. While there may be a place to leave a comment or an email address for writing that is not why that site was created. Blogs are used for communication. Writers may choose to make their site private, but most choose to publish their blogs making them public to any one who wishes to read. Most blog hosting sites offer options to add to the site so readers and the writer can leave comments to each other on the site. In addition, there are entire web communities built just for blogs. Blogs encourage those who have similar thoughts, interests or even businesses to share their blog site so readers can find them easily. Blogs offer guest tracking, keyword tracking, hit counters, comment areas, and even tag boards for both the reader and the writer to use.

Blogging is extremely popular right now. As more people begin sharing their thoughts with others, there are more blogs created each day. Blogging gives writers, journalists, professionals, moms, dads and even teenagers an instant way to publish their thoughts on a regular basis. For those who enjoy writing, blogs give a unique opportunity to practice writing skills and experiment with what others want to read. Businesses use blogs to show off their expertise and knowledge in their fields, whereas websites do not always get this type of message out to the readers.

Blogging and websites do have some similarities. They are both found on the Internet and contain information. However, blogs give a writer the unique opportunity to communicate with their reader and update their entries on a frequent basis. Anyone who tries blogging will love the instant gratification of getting their opinions and thoughts out on the Internet right away and getting instant feedback from readers that visit their site.

Which is better? Blogger or Wordpress

Tag:, ,

Blogging is very popular today. The two main blogging platforms are blogger.com and Wordpress. The platform that will work best for you depends on many factors. Learning the advantages and disadvantages of each will help you make that decision.

Blogger allows you to put up a blog quickly and easily. There is no need for you to have a website or a domain name. Blogger hosts the blog for you.

Registration is free and takes only minutes. Once you are registered, you can immediately begin to set up your blog. Templates are provided for you to use and can be easily changed at any time to give your blog a new look.

When you add a post, you simply name it and, if you have a website, link it to your site so visitors can easily visit your site by clicking on the title.

Type in your text and preview it to be certain it looks good. Then publish it. Your blog is now live.

If it’s this easy, why would you not simply choose Blogger and be done with it?

When you get done posting, you need to ping your blog. Let blogging networks know you have just updated your blog. You can do so by going to Pingomatic.com and entering the name of your blog and the url address of your blog. Click on the websites you want to ping and you’re done.

If you don’t take time to ping, there’s a good chance no one will find your blog. This pinging is not hard, but it is an extra step you need to take when you post, unless you are posting for just family and/or friends.

The fact that Blogger is hosted at Blogger also means they can delete your blog at any time. You don’t have total control over your blog. Chances are this will not happen, but it does tend to make many marketers worry a bit.

Wordpress, on the other hand, is hosted on your hosting service. You use your domain name and the Wordpress blog is in it’s own folder. You have total control over your blog.

Once setup, it is very easy for you to post to it. You go into the administration area and write a post. When you are finished, you click to publish it. If you have setup Wordpress properly and have listed auto posting at Pingomatic, your post will automatically be pinged to the blogging networks. You do not have an additional step.

There are also many templates for you to use and it is possible to configure these templates to fit your needs. Once again, you have more control.

However, Wordpress can be a little complicated to install and, to take full advantage of it, there are many different plugins you will need to install as well. This can be a bit of a daunting task and something you might not want to be bothered with.

You do have to have a domain name and you have to have web hosting set up. These costs may limit the number of different blogs you might want to publish, whereas Blogger allows you to make as many blogs as you want on different subjects and you never pay anything.

Some people have blogs using both platforms. You need to weigh the advantages and disadvantages of each and make your decision accordingly, The best way is to dive in and give it your best shot.
